Quick Start
Quick Start
Before starting, obtain the platform URL and account from your administrator and confirm that your account is bound to the required database connection.
1. Sign In
- Open the URL provided by your administrator.
- Enter your assigned account and initial password in Username and Password.
- Click Sign In.
- If prompted to change your password on first sign-in, follow the instructions. The default policy requires at least eight characters and at least three of these categories: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, digits, and symbols. The password cannot equal your username or its reverse.
Note: Contact your administrator if you forget your password or your account is locked. By default, five consecutive incorrect attempts lock the account for 15 minutes.
Success: You reach the home page. If a password-change page appears first, complete it before continuing.
2. Ask Your First Question
Open Conversation Workbench and click New Conversation.
Select an assistant, typically TimechoDB Operations Assistant.
Enter a simple question, such as:
Which databases can I currently view?Press Enter to send. Use Shift+Enter for a new line.
Wait for the response and review the query results and explanation.
Success: The assistant actually runs a query and displays results. An explanation of how to perform an operation alone does not establish that data has been queried or changed.
3. Ask Questions That Produce Accurate Results
Specify what to query, the time range, and how to organize the results. If you do not know the table or column names, ask the assistant to inspect them first.
For example:
Show yesterday's average temperature for each device. First confirm the table and temperature column, then run the query. Do not treat missing values as zero. Group the results by device. When timing matters, specify the date and time zone, for example, "For the full day of 2026-10-12, using Beijing time."
4. Manage Your Account
| Task | Entry and description |
|---|---|
| Change password | User menu at the upper right → Change Password; other browsers must sign in again afterward |
| Sign out | User menu → Sign Out; always sign out after using a shared computer |
| View version | User menu → About; include the version when reporting an issue |
| Create script credentials | User menu → API Token; see API Tokens and Integration |
Session validity: Eight hours by default. Tabs in the same browser share the sign-in state. Signing out or switching accounts in one tab updates the others.
5. Common Concepts
- Agent: An assistant configured for a purpose, such as TimechoDB Operations Assistant. Select the appropriate assistant when creating a conversation. Regular users generally do not need to configure it.
- Conversation: Stores questions, answers, query results, and approval records for a discussion. Continue asking about the same task in that conversation; create another for a different task.
- Database connection (Context): A set of database connection and account settings. After an administrator binds it to your platform account, operations use the database account specified in it. Creating a platform account does not create a database account.
